The Highland Museum of Childhood is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation – No. SC033930 – known as The Old Strathpeffer Railway Station Trust.
The Trust has owned the Station buildings and grounds since 2009 and has managed the museum since 1994 when it opened. The museum participates in the Museum Accreditation Scheme, administered by Museums Galleries Scotland, in conjunction with Arts Council England – ensuring that sector Standards and Best Practice guidelines are fundamental to our work. The museum is also a member of the Association of Independent Museums.
The museum trust currently has 5 Trustees who have a range of experience and skills:

The museum has one part time employee, Curator and Manager Morven MacDonald, who is qualified with a BA(Hons) in Scottish History and currently working towards achieving the Museum and Gallery Studies MLitt. The museum is also supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.
