Who Are We?

The Highland Museum of Childhood is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation no SC033930 known as The Old Strathpeffer Railway Station Trust.  We have owned the station building and grounds since 2009 and have managed the museum since 1994 when it opened. The museum is accredited and we are part of the Museum Accreditation Scheme which is administered by Arts Council England. We are also a member of the Association of Independent Museums and our curator is a member of the Museums Association

The museum trust currently has 5 Trustees who have a range of experience and skills:

We have one part time employee, Curator and Manager Alison Boyle, who has a BA Honours in Design and a PG Dip in Museum and Gallery Studies. The museum is also supported by a team of volunteers.
