Opening Times
The museum is now closed for the winter and will only open for public drop-in visits on the following dates:
- Saturday 29th November, 11:00 – 15:00
- Saturday 6th December, 11:00 – 15:00
- Saturday 13th December, 11:00 – 15:00
Although the museum is closed for public drop-in visits until spring 2026, private group visits for eight or more people can be arranged in advance.
Please note that although the museum is now closed, other Old Station businesses remain open throughout the winter – please check independent business pages for details.

There is a small admission charge to help meet the costs of daily overheads – without your support, the museum would struggle to survive – Thank you!

The Old Station and Museum are first left on entering the village from Dingwall. There is a brown tourism sign “The Highland Museum of Childhood” seen when approaching from Dingwall. You can also approach on the A834 from the west – in which case the brown tourism sign points to the right.
Our facilities at the Old Station include a car-park with disabled parking, accessible gardens, toilets, tea room and shops. There is also free WI-FI along the platform area. Entrance to the museum is directly from the car park, whilst shops and tea room are accessed from the garden and platform side of the station.
